BIOFLOCⓡ ?
- BIOFLOC is an Bio-polymer polysaccharide secreted by the white
fungus, Pestalotiopsis sp. extra-cellularly.
- Differently from other Bio-polymer produced by microorganisms,
BIOFLOC has significant molecular weight greater than 5 million
dalton.
- Structure and molecular weight may be retained uniformly during
the cultivation, therefore flocculating activity can be maintained
uniformly.
- BIOFLOC is a polysaccharide consisted of 5 carbohydrates. It's
ratio is as the follow ;
galactosamine : glucuronic acid : galacturonic acid : glucose
: galactose = 10.77 : 2.87 : 1 : 50.65 : 1.39
- BIOFLOC is a branched polysaccharide with the bond pattern
of α-, β- type.
